“Minute By Minute” saved the Doobie Brothers, who were on the verge of breaking up. Released on December 1, 1978, the album was created during a period when the sextet – consisting of Patrick Simmons (guitar, vocals), Michael McDonald (keyboards, vocals), Jeffrey “Skunk” Baxter (guitar), Tiran Porter (bass, vocals), John Hartman and Keith Knudsen (drums) – was in the midst of a creative crisis. But the recordings produced by Ted Templeman at Warner Bros. Recording Studios (North Hollywood, California) for the band's eighth album, were to change everything: “Minute By Minute” spent 87 weeks on the Billboard 200 and was certified triple Platinum by the RIAA.
