Grieving for London presents an unprecedented portrait of contemporary life among the working class in the Bethnal Green and Whitechapel neighborhoods of London's East End. Lisa Mckenzie spent three years collecting the stories of those who live and work in the area, hoping to understand the consequences of the increasing precariousness of contemporary working-class life in an ever more expensive and unwelcoming London.
