"The Dark Forest" by Cixin Liu is the second novel in the "Remembrance of Earth's Past" trilogy and is the sequel to the Hugo-award winning "The Three-Body Problem".

Earth has been warned: an alien invasion is headed to Planet Earth. The Trisolarians are on their way, traveling through space at light speed, and are destined to arrive in four hundred years. The aliens' allies and human collaborators has been disposed of, but the subatomic particles called sophons are still present on Earth.
