The Redondo Poets have hosted a weekly open mic poetry reading, usually featuring an invited poet as well, for over 20 years at Coffee Cartel, a neighborhood coffeehouse in Redondo Beach, CA. This anthology contains poems by 80-plus poets who have been featured at the reading. The volume is edited by Redondo Poets co-founder and reading emcee Jim Doane, and co-host Larry Colker. Nationally recognized and prize-winning poets such as David St. John, Charles Harper Webb, Suzanne Lummis, Elena Karina Byrne, Cecilia Woloch, Brendan Constantine, Laurel Ann Bogen, Ellen Bass, and H l ne Cardona share the pages with poets more identified with Los Angeles and Southern California. The Foreword, Preface, Introduction, and Afterword provide personal observations from the co-hosts, the history of the Redondo Poets, and comments about the reading from participants.
