Nonsense Stuff Romantic is a collection of prose poems centered on a secret love affair between a married woman and her girlfriend Meg. Each poem builds upon the previous to build a narrative that illustrates the difficulties of floating somewhere in between two shores: one being the "safe" hetero-normative man and wife relationship and the other seemingly more righteous temptation of trading that (along with society's norms) for running away with the lesbian lover. The best the speaker of the poems can hope for is a kind of tedious equilibrium and some stolen moments of ecstasy.
