"My Bestfriend Browny" is a story of a little girl named Lulu who wishes she can take her dog with her everywhere and keep him forever. After recalling all of their memories together, she later on realizes that Browny is always with her, in her heart. This book was inspired by a 2-year old student of mine who was dealing with the loss of their family dog. Her parents and I searched for an age appropriate book about loss and we were unable to find one. This is why, when told to write a book for my grad school class, I was compelled to write a book that will help young children with their loss. My hope is that this book will serve its purpose by helping families and children with the loss or distancing of a loved one.
