A prequel to my novel, Restless Hearts, Young Hearts is the story of a budding rock band made up of five teenage friends. While looking after his coming of age younger sister, comforting an ill fated and dying mother and trying to live up to the standards of an overbearing father, Michael Clifford finds refuge in his music. His world and emotions begin to crumble when he gets involved with a much older female Guidance Counselor from his high school. This greed driven woman promises to make Michael an overnight musical sensation while taking advantage of his young naive personality. Michael is forced to grow up much faster if he is to survive in the world of musical stardom and turns to drinking as a new refuge. He soon finds shelter with a fellow classmate who helps him learn a little about life, family, friendship and unconditional love.
