Stranger in Paradise
Rebekah Stoltzfus comely Old Order Amish widow in Paradise, PA innocently hires Bob Livingston to help her son plant corn on her 20-acre riverfront farm. He is actually a land developer, coveting her waterfront property for development. They fall in love, much to the chagrin of Rebekah's possessive minister, also a widow, who had planned to offer her his good name in marriage. She is shunned for living in sin with the stranger, the minister, Christ Yoder, throws over all his values becoming violent and landing in jail for murder. Livingston confesses his real intentions and, for the second time, is ordered out of Rebekah's home. But he comes to her rescue when the crazed minister decides that if he cannot have the lovely Rebekah, nobody can. The book runs appx. 100,000 and is complete.
