This is a Modern Greek grammar book from beginner to advanced level. Published in December 2022, it explains the language as it is used today (with contemporary phrases and with the modern accentuation system). Each chapter includes a brief theory section, followed by several exercises to practice the theory, and answers to the exercises.
We begin with the very basics (writing, double vowels and double consonants, articles, basic prepositions, pronouns); then we move on to nouns in the three genders in the singular and the plural, then we go over adjectives in the three genders and we practice adjective-noun agreement; and the second half of the book is dedicated to verbs: we look at all tenses and persons, the conditional, the imperative, the subjunctive, and many other topics.
The book is not an exhaustive grammar reference and is not meant to replace grammar books but rather puts the emphasis on practice. Explanations are given in English and instructions for the exercises are given in English and Greek. The meaning of numerous Greek words is given (right under each word), to facilitate learning and to help beginners -who may still have limited vocabulary- to complete the exercises without having to constantly refer to a dictionary.
