Iceland is a wonderful place. It is the land of sheep, the northern lights, unpronounceable volcanoes (try saying Eyjafjallajökull), rugged landscapes, waterfalls, mountains, and natural hot springs. Its breathtaking scenery is out of this world.

After my first visit, Iceland quickly became one of my favorite countries. It's a stunningly beautiful island filled with friendly locals and breathtaking scenery that you won't find anywhere else in the world. I adore not only the landscape but also the people and have thoroughly enjoyed every subsequent visit to the country.
However, Iceland is pricey. Traveling on a budget in Iceland is difficult because the country is not cheap. However, if you are wise, you can see a lot without going broke. If you're here to backpack, you won't be living large, but Iceland is worth it.
