Directed at engineers, this is a detailed treatment of the use of statistical models to represent physical phenomena. The main intent of this work is to show the engineer responsible for a product whose performance is subject to chance fluctuations how to choose a reasonable statistical model and how to use this model in the evaluation of statistical problems.
